Introduction Letter
My first job experience was in 2009 as one of the pioneering staff of the first integrated tourism destination in asia, the Resorts World Manila, a casino hotel where I served as a Waiter/Service Ambassador. It is a very big privilege for me to be part of this company which had equipped me to be an efficient staff in the industry.
Being a Service Ambassador/Waiter is like a bootcamp for staying calm under intense pressure. From attending guests from several tables demanding everything just to make them feel comfortable and satisfied. These insane levels of high-pressure and multi-tasking work has taught me to be more flexible and attentive in giving high quality service that is evident in all of the operation. I also learned the value of teamwork and effective communication. It is through communicating calmly and efficiently even under pressure.
After 2 years of being a service ambassador, the management saw my potential for higher post; hence, I became part of the management team. I never wasted the chance they had given me. I work hard twice more to pass all the test and task given me. After six months of training I became a Restaurant Supervisor where feeding my mind and heart of knowledge in guests services were widened.
As a Supervisor, I set goals to help and share my knowledge and experiences to my staff. I had set services improvement programs, self-motivations and personality development trainings for them. I motivated them to work hard for their families and their future. I also made sure that they are fully equipped in rendering high quality services. Moreover, I help my colleagues in handling events in the hotel. The management recognized that and they have decided to give me another task which was to be part of Banquet Team as additional Management Task Force.
Being a Supervisor, my bosses also pushed me joined inter-hotel competition like the National Food Showdown: Professional Table Set-up Professional Category. Being equipped with right skills and talent, we won in the competition for three consecutive years, from 2012 to 2014. Those accomplishments made me recognized more by the management. Humility aside, I found myself as a hardworking and flexible employee who didn’t mind working more than the regular hours. I then became an Acting Manager of the Task Force in Winford Hotel Manila which is under the big umbrella of Resorts World Manila. I handled a team who were responsible in guest service for the opening. I trained my staff and monitor them until soft opening day. Surprisingly, the management extended my service in monitor sales and needs for the restaurant and bar in the casino area.
I am applying in your hotel to contribute my current skills in attending to guests’ needs. It is my goal to deliver my responsibilities as part of F&B Department or any position that will be given to me to the fullest satisfaction of your hotel. Moreover, as my long term objective, I would like to continue working for the betterment of the company, taking on new responsibilities until I can serve as part of the management. My goal is to become the point person for any position within the company, utilizing and building upon my skills in customer service and operating by continuously contributing to the company and seeking out professional development. Also, this is not for me alone but for my family as well. I want to provide for my family to give them better future.
I want to be part of your company because I am always eager to learn and explore new things and reach for “the next big thing” in my life. I am encouraged by my family to reached for my dreams and set goals right for my future. However, the idea of going outside of the country and entering an entirely new platform was challenging but yet exciting Also, I want to gain additional experiences and knowledge regarding international standards.
As a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Nueva Ecija Colleges (now Our Lady of Fatima University), I am really passionate in hospitality and quality services. My three-year experience of being a waiter and four-year experience as a Restaurant Supervisor at Resorts World Manila has prepared me to be an additional workforce in your company.
I believe having internship experience, whether it will be a few months or a year, will make me a better professional in this kind of field. I look forward to be exposed to actual tasks and challenges and real-world experience.
