I have Master’s Degree in General Public Health and BSc. Degree in Nursing, with more than 10 years of experience in project management, from initial idea to completion, both in the public sector & International NGOs.

Over the years, I have a long track record of skillfully planning & managing multi-million-dollar projects of the core donors (i.e. USAID, DFID, ECHO, EC/EU, SIDA, GAC, OFDA, UN Pooled/Humanitarian Funds), hiring & training efficient cross functional teams. I have achieved consistent & remarkable results in execution of different multi-sectorial Health and Nutrition projects. I have also developed a wide range of applicable & well-rounded skills, i.e. skills in first-rate-leadership & project management, problem solving and decision-making, organizational and planning, excellent communication & networking. My friendly nature allows me to interact well with other staff members at all level and being me a good team player.

In my current position as Regional HSS Program Officer at JSI Research & Training Institute, I have been undertaking the overall HSS program activities through providing leadership, technical support and expertise on project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation at various levels across the community, facility, and public health system. I have also delivering in planning of thematic budgets & track utilization regularly, providing training & capacity building to internal staff as well as partners.

Previously, I worked in Pathfinder International, since September/2017 for 12 months as a Cluster Coordinator, and I had performed the transformational initiatives that focused on driving forces on Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Death interventions, mainly on RMNCH-N packages and I was delivering the expected results on time, within budget, and to the highest requirements.

Since April/2016 for 16 months, I worked in Save the Children International as Health and Nutrition Manager and Project Manager-EC/ECHO Portfolio in the role of people/team management, overall Child Health & Nutrition, Program Management, Program budget management, partnership management and establishing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system in the projects.

I worked in ACF International, since September/2012 for 42 months as Nutrition & Health Program Manager. During my staying, I was delivering a lot through developing accurate & achievable project plans, optimizing tools & procedures for managing the project, participate in humanitarian & development coordination meetings/forums and share updates quickly, reporting government & donor reports with deadliness, document & disseminated best practices/success stories, effectively communicate & networking with stakeholders, managing the project budgets, commodities & other resources.

Since August/2009 for 36 months, I was working at Woreda Health Office and Health Centre level as Head of Woreda Health Office & Head of Health Centre respectively.

Besides to my fixed contract, I have also involved in short consultancy works, like in WHO as Independent Monitor (IM) when national measles & polio campaigns conducted and in UNFPA as Individual Consultant IC)-RH/HIV Program officer.

Experience

1-September-2018 to till now Regional Health System Strengthening Program Officer at JSI Research & Training Institute Inc.

• Participate in program design, proposal development, reporting, monitoring and evaluation and other aspects of programming and operations.
• Plan and implement HSS interventions (i.e. Leadership & Governance, Human Resource, Health Information, Medicine & Technology, Service Delivery and Health Finance) in the region in collaboration with central, regional & cluster office teams.
• Assist the Regional Health Bureau in strengthening the achievement of woreda transformation and other the three HSTP transformation agendas.
• Coordinate and conduct planned HSS trainings for Primary Hospitals, Health Centers, Woreda Health office & Zone health department staffs.
• Conduct follow-up visits, on the job mentoring and supportive supervision to ensure the implementation of the trainings provided.
• Ensure the presence of functional referral system across the service level (health post, health center, and primary hospital).
• Conduct, measure and document changes in relation to HSS interventions and document best practices and success stories regularly.

• Plan and coordinate the implementation of all Nutrition, MNCH, RH-FP and AYHD activities in-line with approved budgets & donor requirements.
• Support District Health Offices to implement health sector transformation activities i.e. KPIs, WMS, EHCRIG & CSC, EPAQ, CBHI/HCF.
• Identify the implementation lessons, best practices and innovations in RMNCH-N services, and document & share to country office & partners.
