MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AS WATER TREATMENT PLANT CHEMIST:

Performs physical, chemical, biological and microbiological and special analysis in all samples collected from the La Mesa Treatment Plant 1 and 2, Angat and Ipo Watersheds, and other applicable points within Maynilad influence area.
Interprets and relays results to ensure that the control parameters are met in producing finished water quality in accordance or better than the Philippine National Standards of Drinking Water set values
Determines and recommends immediately to Plant Operations the optimum dosages of treatment chemicals through jar test and interpret results of laboratory analysis through monitoring of the efficacy of treatment.
Prepares, standardizes and assures accuracy of reagent chemicals required for analysis to ensure that Process control operation complies with the requirements of the Integrated Management System.
Performs laboratory analysis for treatment chemicals submitted for bidding and those delivered before acceptance.
Monitors, accepts and records Process control chemical reagents and supplies and updates inventory after withdrawal at every end of the month.
Monitors and calibrates equipment used in the process control analysis.
Ensures proper logging of data from the online analyzers and manual equipment.
Assists Process control officer in monitoring the daily stock of all treatment chemicals that includes chemical consumption and deliveries.
Implements Integrated Management System’s programs, activities, procedures and policies.
Does other related tasks as may be assigned.
