The Women’s Shadow Parliament-Kenya: Finance and Administration officer
2011 to July 2015:
In charge of UN Women and UNDP Amkeni Wakenya Projects finance tasks for both National office and the field offices. This included providing accounting support, ensuring implementation of financial policies, procedures and strong internal controls in order to ensure cost effective and timely financial reporting as per the Donor requirement.
Other Responsibilities:
· Ensuring the implementation of Finance policies, procedures and systems.
· Preparation and monitoring budgets and expenditures, timely review of cash positions for Donor funds.
· Support management of programme resources, supervise administration of accounts and follow up budgets and expenditures;
· Presentation of information and participation in audit of projects;
· Maintain and update assets register for all partners under project.
· Manage bank accounts, and the transfer of money between head-office, and field offices for the projects
· Monitor cash flow within the organization
· Ensure that all monthly transactions are posted to the Quick Books.

PROWED: TCB- Project Finance Officer:
2005 to Dec 2010
Finance in charge of TCB (The Children Left Behind funds project). An OVC Project taking care of 4500 orphans and their caregivers in Ndhiwa constituency Homabay County. My major role was to ensure that the donor fund was accounted for as per the required standard reporting guidelines and that the Orphans received services as per the approved budget.
Other Duties involved:
· Preparation of Final Budgets estimates for financial planning.
· Preparing quarterly accounts, budget analysis and close monitoring of over and under expenditures.
· Preparing monthly bank reconciliation and income and expenditure accounts.
· Assist higher level officers in all aspects of budgetary control by providing financial reports on financial status of the organization
· Preparing monthly payrolls, maintaining petty cash account.
· Assist in the formation and monitoring of SILC Groups within the community, a source of micro-finance within the community to assist the caregivers and the orphans.
