EDUCATION

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering & Society, McMaster University

Hamilton, ON — Class of 2018

WORK EXPERIENCE

Applications Engineer Intern, Semtech Canada Corp.

Burlington, ON — May 2016 – Jan 2017 (8 months)

Supported the launch of the Semtech Gearbox, a UHD-SDI Video Converter, by developing test bench automations for product screening and validation.

Daily responsibilities working in an electronics lab included debugging evaluation PCB’s and troubleshooting client specific applications.

Utilized high speed test equipment in conjunction with LabVIEW to create stress tests and characterize cable reach, cross-talk resilience and jitter performance.

Created user manuals, setup guides and other supporting documentation to allow interested companies to integrate Semtech solutions easily and effectively.
Hardware Engineering, McMaster Formula Hybrid

Hamilton, ON — Jan 2015- May 2016 (1 year, 4 months)

Designed and fabricated a PCB controller for the regulation and optimization of thermoelectric generators (TEG’s) to reclaim waste heat energy.

PCB layout using Altium Designer and in C-language to program the onboard Freescale Microprocessor. Sourced components created footprints and compiled the final BOM.

Worked with Matlab-Simulink to simulate the thermodynamics and control algorithm of TEG system to ensure safe and effective operation.

Vehicle Telemetry System, Mac Formula Electric (Capstone)

Hamilton, ON — Sept 2017-April 2018 (8 months)

Created a custom PC based telemetry solution for Mac Formula Electric to transmit in-race vehicle diagnostics to the pit crew for driver safety, data monitoring and logging.

Utilized an AVR microcontroller to convert telemetry between different communication protocols such as CAN, UART and RS232. Designed a custom PCB to house the ATmega and Digi Rx modules in a compact and lightweight package.

Created a modular GUI using COSMOS by Ball Aerospace, an open-source software and set up a wiki for knowledge transfer to those joining the team in coming years.

Trend Analysis Inquiry, Engineering & Society Capstone

Hamilton, ON — Sept 2017-April 2018 (8 months)

Conducted a first of its kind inquiry into the emergence of Plant-Based Diets as a food and agriculture trend using Google Trends, Python and Microsoft Excel.

Organized, manipulated and extracted the search volume data (in .csv format) from various countries to see if a trend exists based on relative volume of Google Search Queries.

Supported the data with an in-depth literature review of marketing reports published since 2010 from private and public research groups such as Nielsen, Mintel, FDA and the UN.

Teaching Assistant, McMaster University

Hamilton, ON — September 2015-May 2016 (8 months)

Prepared material for and led weekly tutorial sessions for over 75 undergraduates to promote creative and critical thinking through discussion, debate and activity-based learning.

Graded essays submitted feedback on assignments and helped resolve any conflict which arose on a day-to-day basis.
