Experience

WAITRESS / SUE’S BAKERY / AUGUST 1-30, 2011

I had the opportunity to work alongside Ms. Suzie as a waitress. Also learning from her and get to see how the restaurant runs on a satisfying rate. My responsibilities included: cleaning the tables, chairs and setting up the deli section for sandwich making. At the end of my shift I had to prepare the deli section for the evening shift waitress so that it doesn’t take up much time when customers arrive for dinner.

COUNTER-HOSTESS / COUNTERSTYLE RESTAURANT

Of each shift I change the garbage, clean and wipe chairs also swipe and wipe floor in order to keep the place in order.
I take customer ticket orders and make sure I accurately read what’s on it before giving the customers their meals.
When they are dinning I make sure to set up a clean tray to serve their foods.
Also I ensure to restock my work area (eg. Forks, napkins, spoons, plates) for my shift and as well as for the other shift so that when they arrive they will be able to attend each customer’s needs instead of focusing on restocking.

On each morning shift I open up the dining room doors and windows and inspecting the dining room tables are clean from dust and small insects, cleaning the plates and changing the napkins
Ensuring that each special request are lodged and passed to restaurant staff.
When guest have complaints I make sure that I deal with the matter appropriately so that there won’t be any confusion.
When guest arrive at the restaurant and the waiter is not present I take his place and then report after what the guest has ordered.

As a supervisor I had many duties including customer service, running the cash registers, stocking the shelves of the store, working closely with retail merchandisers, handling problems that other employees and customers had, helping customers in locating items, stay up to date with sales and promotions and pricing of the goods on the shelves.
As merchandiser I made sure that pricing was correct with all merchandiser, kept work area clean and safe, assist customers with goods, making sure to replenish all shelves on the floor, place each items that’s near to expire date at the front and stock the fresh goods behind them.
