SUMMARY & JOB DESCRIPTION:

I am a licensed Civil Engineer that specializes on structural analysis and design of infrastructures as well as 3D modeling and 2D drafting (using TEKLA Structures and AutoCAD respectively).

As a Structural Design Engineer, it is my responsibility to:

1.       Prepare conceptual (FEED drawings) as basis for the design or referring to Arch’s dwgs.

2.       Compile data that will be used for the design (e.g. building type, use of, location, etc.).

3.       Analyze and design the building/ structure using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

4.       Verify that the design is satisfactory/ adequate to withstand the loads (data) and is within the minimum code requirement.

5.       Prepare structural drawings base on the design results.

6.       Prepare design report.

7.       Work in parallel with other disciplines to minimize errors in drawings (e.g. beam/ column/ wall size and orientation, clashes on pipes to structural elements, etc.)

8.       Prepare bar bending schedule.

9.       Address site quires relating to civil – structural.

Joannou and Paraskevaides (SA) Ltd is a Cypriot owned Engineering and Construction company that operates predominantly in the Middle East and in some parts of North Africa.
