• Prepare serum and other samples for testing

• Make calls for blood availability in Red Cross and other hospitals

C. Sputum Microscopy Section
• Screens specimen for testing
• Smear preparation and staining of AFB smears
D. STD/Aids Central Cooperative Laboratory
• Performed Westernblot to confirm HIV
• Performed serologic tests including ELISA and other test kits
• Assisted in preparation of samples for RT-PCR
E. Bacteriology Section
• Use of Versatrek 240 with cart for blood, CSF and other body fluid for culture
• Use of Biomeriux Vitek 2 for sensitivity testing

• Plating of specimen to culture media
F. Clinical Microscopy
• Urinalysis is done through the use of IRIS (iQ200 Series)
• Manual microscopic testing for stool

• Most tests are done through the use of Horiba ABX Pentra 400
