JOB DESCRIPTION ON ALL AREA OF EXPOSURE:

 

• Assigns student to a patient in medical-surgical ward, emergency, nephrology, oncology ward

• Accompany the student to the bedside and instruct in proper assessment of the client

• Teaches the student to prioritize the health needs of the client

• Supervises the student while implementing the plan of care effectively

• Discusses to the students the roles/functions of nurse in the ward

• Supervises the students in preparing and administering medications according to the standard of nursing practice

• Assist the students in evaluating the implemented plan of care

• Reviews with the students the concept of management and efficient use of hospital resources and supplies

• Familiarize the student with the set up and different instrument/equipment in the ward

• Guide students during the implementation of health teaching plan to patients

• Discusses Attitude/Values expected from the students

• Maintains proper class decorum in accordance with faculty and students’ Code of Discipline.

• Records students’ attendance and submits attendance sheets for grading purposes

• Prepares gradesheets and submits to the Registrar for entry at the students’ permanent record

• Discusses to the student the principles of infection control

• Teach the student on how to document patients development, vital signs sheet, nurses notes

• Assist the students in communicating effectively with clients and members of the health team

• Supervises students during endorsement
