- Makes rounds with the physicians and carries out orders relevant to all plan of care
- Endorses patients to the incoming staff nurses, and when transferring patients to other unit/department.
- Receives endorsement from the outgoing staff nurses, and when a patient is to be transferred to their unit/ department.
- Monitors, records, and reports symptoms and changes in patient’s condition.
- Informs the physician of patient’s condition.
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
- Prepares patients for, and assists with, examination and treatments.
- Acts as patient’s advocate.
- Coordinates with other members of the health team regarding patient’s treatment and procedures.
- Responsible for ordering, preparing, administering, and charting of medications and treatments as ordered by the physicians.
- Plans and prioritizes nursing care activities / programs.
- Facilitates admission, transfer and discharge of patients
- Assists and supervises, nursing aids, ward clerks and orderlies.
- Keep endorsement sheet updated.
- Makes rounds of the ward/unit ensuring comfort and safety of clients.
- Assists in the CODE BLUE
- Performs procedures scientifically as indicated
- May operate a range of medical and or life-saving equipment in the assigned area
- Give health teachings to the patient and/or his/her family
