WORK EXPERIENCE (SEQUENTIAL ORDER)
DATE: February 2019
POSITION: JAMB UTME Supervisor
PLACE: Aba, Abia State
ORGANIZATION: Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
Monitoring and overseeing jamb UTME examination to ensure that the center provides all that’s needed to ensure smooth running of the examination.
Ensuring zero tolerance to examination malpractice.
Ensuring that candidates comports themselves during examination.
Ensuring that candidates are well searched by security personnel before entering the examination hall.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENT: On the first day of the examination during the morning session, it was observed that most of the computers were not working well. This created lot of issues as parents and candidates alike were becoming violent and refused to leave the hall for the next session to commence. In my capacity as the supervisor, I got the statistics of the bad computers, collected the names and registration numbers of affected candidates and then filed a report to the JAMB headquarters. I then reduced the number of candidates for the next session to one which can be effectively accommodated by the number of good computers available and then called on parent to brief them on the development, urging them to be patient as those affected will be compensated in due time. This led to the closure of the center and the candidates were posted to other centers.
