Under general direction, manages and directs nursing care activities and coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Delivers direct patient care; assesses patients’ physical, psychosocial and emotional needs; provides patient and family teachings and offers guidance and support to family members during hospitalization and on discharge; accurately maintains patients’ records and develop a suitable course of action based on patient-specific needs; informs physician on the patients’ status; responds to phone messages from patients and informs physician as needed.

Prepares patients during invasive and non invasive clinical procedures needed for diagnosing clients’ ailments; obtains required consent forms to invasive procedures; administers medication as assigned; serves as a resource person for knowledge of medication uses, side effects and dosage; checks for proper medication order and preparation; properly documents all nursing interventions rendered to the patients.

Maintains professional ambiance with other health care team members; makes referrals; performs other duties as assigned.
