EPRESSION OF INTEREST

I am writing to express my sincere motivation in applying for Vacancy of Epidemiology at your esteemed university for the year 2019/20. I have graduated BSc. Degree in Nursing in 2007 and Master Public Health in 2013 both from Jimma University, Ethiopia. Since September 2008 to oct 2013, I have been working as junior, senior and chief expert in Ministry of Federal ministry of health, Ethiopia.  Starting from November 2014 to still now I am working as lecturer, researcher, community service and technology transfer coordinator  and vice academic Dean, at Ambo University College of medicine and health Science. I have taught different Public Health courses like Epidemiology, research methods, health ethics and biostatistics etc.  Also, I have supervised under graduate and postgraduate students for their thesis and project works. As well, I have carried out a number of public health researches on different topics in addition to extracurricular activities.  I have developed this strong interest toward the field of public health from my personal experience.  Before becoming to university lecturer I was working in federal ministry of health when I was facing patients suffering from reproductive health related problem. Additionally after I become university lecturer, I have been conducting researches and observing different gaps. Our research finding and many other research articles on reproductive health shows huge public health problems in all age category of Ethiopian community. As a result I am eager to know more about this field to tackle the problem in my country in synergizing my previously profession.

One of the most important tips enthused me to apply for this program is all the courses organized in this program. Because, these courses are very important and well organized to qualify health professionals and it is impossible for me to have a chance to learn such well-organized courses in Ethiopia. Thus, I am interested with this program to acquire in-depth knowledge and skill in so that I would produce competent professionals through provision of quality education.
