Achieved the Silver Award from the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme. This involved team managing, skills developing and leadership. The skills nurtured and developed during this training eventually helped me to excel in my training and subsequent commissioning as an Officer in the Army.
COMMUNITY WORK:
In line with the Malawi Governments efforts to reduce early child pregnancies and marriages, and in a bid to promote girl-child education, several initiatives have been implemented and I participate in several of those initiatives where I deliver public speeches and career talks and I serve as an example and a role model.
I undertook voluntary work experience with the Bridwell Police Station, Nottingham, UK, through the Youth Offending Team (YOT) from 2003 to 2006 as an Appropriate Adult for young people who were arrested (and for adults, whom after examination appear to have a mental health illness). This work involved giving young people and the concerned adults counseling, advice and guidance under the Crime and Prevention Act 1998 and Human Rights Act 1998.
