Duties performed: collecting blood samples (venepuncture and finger prick), preparing and examining clinical samples for haematology, microbiology, biochemistry, PCR and parasitology; preparing reagents; performing serology tests; checking results before releasing; releasing results; controlling laboratory stock of reagents and supplies, maintaining quality assurance.
Malawi Blood Transfusion Services (Blantyre) – Attachment, February 2017 -April 2018.
Duties performed: counselling blood donor before and after donation; collecting blood from blood donors; preparing blood components; performing malaria microscopy for blood donors; running samples on ELISA for HIV, hepatitis B & C detection; running blood samples on blood grouping machine
Mzuzu Central Hospital – Volunteer, (July 2017 to December 2017)
